Family Owned & Locally Operated
We’re the Ta family, the ones behind the coffee.
I’m Michaela, and my husband, Eric, and I have built this coffee shop into our own. We fell in love with this location and fulfilled a dream of ours by turning it into a coffee shop that is all of our own creation. I have been in coffee for about 8 years and I fell head over heels in love with the craft of coffee when I pulled my first shot of espresso.
My husband has been heavily in the food industry for over a decade (but who’s counting 😉)
We both have formed a passion for cultivating and creating the best products we can for the Tyler community. We are at the shop working with our *amazing* staff just about every day! If we aren’t up there then we are at home working on fun ideas to further the customer experience.
When we aren’t doing all things Crema we are with our two kids and our dog Bentley! (It’s not uncommon to see our kids at the shop too) Family is everything to us and thanks to all of our amazing customers we are able to provide for our family while fulfilling a dream!
Quality ingredients just taste better
We firmly believe in using high-quality ingredients, sourcing locally where possible, and keeping things fresh is the only way to make a great drink!
All of our coffee is roasted locally by Porch Culture, right here in Tyler. We’ve worked with them to develop a premium espresso blend just for Crema. You can’t get it anywhere else. We purchase Matcha directly from the source – a farm in Kyoto, Japan. Matcha isn’t cheap, but we will only serve Ceremonial Grade Matcha (the kind officially approved to use in religious ceremonies). It’s the best. Read more about our Matcha here.
Our pastries are made by a local baker in Tyler, Dough Studio, and are always fresh. We never sell pre-packaged food that’s been shipped across the country. We think you can taste the difference! If we’re not using syrup made in-house, we use Maison Routin syrups from France. They’re made with water from the Alps and 100% real cane sugar. No high-fructose corn water in sight!
And the best ingredient? Us! (Cheesy, we know). Our baristas are some of the nicest and most coffee-crazy people you’ll find. They’re experienced, fast and friendly. Stop by and say hi!
